Finally after my long hiatus in 2015, I finally back to writing again. I felt like saying this words

So I had this short vacation with the family at Sabahan all time favourite spot to go to… yes none other the New Zealand of Sabah – Kundasang!
As you can see on previous posts, I loved trying our local homestay here. So this time we booked this cute homestay we saw from Facebook. Located just below one of latest trending homestay ; Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping Site.
The fact that we loved cooking and BBQ-ing our own food makes us said BAH we gonna stay here this homestay equipped with kitchen including gas stove and mostly fridge! Ada icebox yuuuuu! Its RM 250/night for one house. So we booked two houses. Namely the wolfberry and fennel. It’s the yellow and orange house because they have another two house by the name Lavender and Rosemary. Ohhh you can also camp here! Next time I wanna try it. Haha! Lucky for us this homestay was still available because as you know if its school holiday season you need to book earlier. By early I mean even two months earlier is ok. You might be lucky to get a walk in but why risk it so book earlier!
How to go here? For people who always go to Kundasang you must know where is Puncak Borneo Resort right (now known as FL d'Legend Puncak Borneo Resort) yes you enter that junction. For newbie its actually from Kota Kinabalu you will need to take 5km drive to from Pekan Nabalu and take the right entrance. Theres a Puncak Borneo Resort and vege stalls as a guide. Go straight for 30minutes …
Before that…if you love your car…somemore if its lowered haha..please slow down like real slow. The route is not that ok…steep somemore. But when you found the homestay I tell you that you wont even bothered about the route at first place!! Yes steep grable route with holes. Bear with it! You only need to take right entrance when you see Kg Himbaan…please ignore Kg Kinasaraban entrance which you will find first. Remember it’s a 30minutes drive. Then when you find the Kg Himbaan it only takes you another 5 mins to reach the homestay. Follow the signage there. You will come across Hounon before Himbaan Gardenstay.
Don’t worry if you need something from the grocery shop..either you buy it before going here or get it from the nearby Canteen / small grocery shop which is just walking distance. And let say you wanna go Ranau after staying here theres another route which you can use without going through this grable route twice. You may ask the owner as he bring us there last time!! Yeaaa we know new route. Thanks to him!
About the parking..dont worry you can park in front of the house…very spacious. The place equipped with sufficient light at night too. So don’t worry!
After we parked the car and gotten the house keys we straightly go see the inside of the homestay and oh my god..I wish I have this kind of house hahaha and to our surprised this two house is interconnecting so we can go next house easier.
First impression: simple, equipped and clean! Just it will be more perfect to have another floor mat at the balcony and slippers for indoor like Little Hut Mesilou Homestay did. Because at night the floor is damnnnn freezing! Also broom to clean up the mess from our dinner haha.
A cute homestay in short. 5 stars for the homestay.
Each house have one big bed and one single bed and additional mattress will be charged RM 25 so we did add one to be more comfortable as we have 9 people together.
So whats the wow factor of this homestay?? I never stayed at this part of Kundasang. Usually either the area after Kundasang town or Mesilou. Means I get to see the other side view of our majestic Mount Kinabalu! Somemore compare to other homestay that I have stayed , this one gave the Mount Kinabalu view right from my bed the moment I open my eyes!!! I can see it through the sliding door! Also I can kupi-kupi (having my coffee) at balcony with Mount Kinabalu as my view!!! Awesome right??? I wish my home.is like this haha… I never get enough of Aki Nabalu View…never.
Given a good weather…I suggest you to wake up earlier like 6-7am to get the clear view of Mount Kinabalu because usually by 10am it will be covered by the clouds.
Oh, about hot water for bathing…yes just turn the tap labelled hot to get your hot water =D bring your own towel and toiletries after all this is a homestay not hotel k?
For more info about this homestay just like the facebook pages : Himbaan-Gardenstay-Facebook or you may contact Mr Andrew at +6016- 8109816
Deposit is 50% for booking. So plan your trip to this place!!! And let your friend envy you kupi-kupi at balcony with Aki Nabalu view. Don’t forget to take pictures!!
