Mesilau Highland Strawberry Farm

After having our lunch at Mountain Valley Resort restaurant, we headed to

 Mesilau Highland Strawberry Farm. 

An instagrammable place with strawbery red theme place.

We keep on seeing them on facebook and decided to go here. I thought it was the one in the map nearby HB Benjamin haha but boy I was wrong, it was just after Desa Farm then take the wooden bridge to Kg Cinta Mata Mesilau and turn left continue until you saw their signage on your right hand side. You can asked the location from their staff, they are fast in replying.

They have very striking cute red homestay hehe. But we only came to have refreshing strawberry drink! I really love the strawberry juice! Again, very friendly staff too!

Mountain Valley Resort (The Glass Bistro & Restaurant) Kundasang

Hi guys!

So last Valentines day we went to one of new resort nearby Kundasang.

Mountain Valley Resort

As what I know this place used to be Puncak Borneo but nevermind that. It is located at Bundu Tuhan before Kundasang. Right junction if you are from KK direction.

I have my mind set that it wont be as cool breeze as Kundasang but when we arrived there my godness the breeze so cool maybe because it was cloudy too which means no sighting of Mt. Kinabalu that day huhu.

We planned to sleep here but my travel partner was busy so we just decided to have our lunch here and plus it was my partner's birthday. You can actually see Mt. Kinabalu from the restaurant but unfortunate for me that day was cloudy.

The restaurant is at the above while the bistro located below. We only tried the restaurant because was so full after having lunch at their restaurant haha. Next time!

We had their smoked duck pizza, tom yam pop chicken, mushroom soup. Great food indeed! Just like in their reviews on facebook!

The smoked pizza have thin crust, loads of cheese (I wonder if their supplier is Desa Farm haha) aromatic smoked duck. While their tom yam pop chicken unlike any other pop chicken! Not oily not overly spiced..perfect to our liking. Great job to the kitchen team. Even the mushroom soup was thick and yummy thats the first time I can actually finished up a mushroom soup.

The service staff there was also very alert and friendly we felt welcoming in addition to the lovely ambience.

Overall food taste was worth the price! For the menu + two drinks its RM68++ I forgot the exact amount but yeah roughly like that. Feel very full after that. Gonna bring my family here next time.

D'La Sri Cottage Mesilau Kundasang

Hello! Gong Xi Fa Cai 😁 Have a prosperous CNY!

So the second day of CNY we decided to spend our holiday at Kundasang, we were so busy that we only managed to book last December for the homestay which at that time a lot of other homestay we planned to go was full booked that was when we search and found this newly opened homestay at Mesilau which according to the staff just opened two months ago. You need to book your homestay at least two months if its public holiday/school holiday ok? Or it will be full book here and there

Its D'La Sri Cottage, Mesilau Kundasang.

You can find this place using Waze 😁 for those that ever been to the Cat Village Mesilau it is located after this place further uphill. Its actually located after junction Desa Farm and before the wooden bridge to Mesilau.

Take note that the route are grable and one car route at a time. Very narrow route since next to the route is the river. Just drive slowly. We have a chitchat with the staff there and they said they are on the process of kasi tar the route (tar the road). So ok lah hehe.

Arriving late since we departed late from KK, we directly checkin and wanted to start BBQ. Theres place dedicated for bbq where you need to walk down further away from your homestay but if you find it a fuss and wanted to BBQ beside your homestay you can rent it for RM30. So we chose to rent it. Plus, it was raining that time. Malas turun naik.

During our stay, the electricity was not so stable hence the kettle and rice cooker functioning slower than usual and flickering light. So we switch off the tv and other switches. They said they are on process applying for the electricity too. I guess because it was a newly open place and lots of houses so yeah.

There are refrigerator yeayyy, stoves, pots too. For our house Teratak Dedey theres two room with Queen bed, and one room with single bed but the house and bedroom are really spacious. We booked another house too which is Teratak Pija but I did not went to see the house haha.  Oh and also two bathroom. If can I am suggesting having slippers for the bathroom because it can get too cold to even step on the bathroom floor.

I am hoping for the hot water to be more stable like at Little Hut since the water is from the mountain it can get very cold but antam sajalah. Haha the rest of us boiled their own water for bath.

I suggest that theres bigger wok or pan to cook for big number of person too as we have to cook our fried rice in the pot since the pan are for smaller portion. And more tongs (pengepit) for BBQ pls. If you are lazy to cook or BBQ you can go straight to their cafe/shop too. Check the photo below.

For taking photos, I believe if it is the flower blooming season the place will be so instagrammable. The gardeners & grounds staff there are very friendly and hardworking! Theres river beside the BBQ place too.

Mount Kinabalu can be spot on the left side of the homestay. Note that usually the mountain can be seen clearly around 7am but still depends on the weather. If you are lucky and its very sunny that day you can enjoy the Mt Kinabalu sight until 10am.

Parking are spacious so dont worry. We drove Myvi 1.5/1.3 to this place haha. So jangan fikir kreta besar sja dpt naik kio.

TEMPURUNG SEASIDE LODGE

You can go and check their FB page (the one with latest updates because there are two pages of same name)

You can simply check WAZE / GOOGLEMAP for the direction however do take note internet line when reaching there will be unstable / weak / no signal at all. Celcom might be having some signal compared to Digi and Maxis. So you might want to remember your route.

Theres lot of route to this place. I have discovered three different routes and the least confusing is the one from the turtle roundabout aka Kg Kayul. The other route was nearby with the town/pekan and theres another one in between the two route mention earlier. If you are from the Kuala Penyu town you will be directed to the route which are more confusing to us since there will be two roundabout 😂 but anyways just ask the villagers if you are lost.

Once reaching the Tempurung Seaside Lodge, let say you are from Kg Kayul you will be directed to first junction label Tempurung Seaside Lodge but thats not the junction you should take. There will be junction where the route are going downward and label Tempurung Seaside Lodge too this are the correct one.

About the entrance fee you can check their FB page for more information. We went there for family gathering (Hawaiian theme) with booking in advanced RM50/pax. We can chose between BBQ / steamboat. So we went for BBQ. The food portion was more than enough we even bring back the extras. However the place can be improve in terms of the bbq cooking skills as some food was not cooked long enough e.g. the eggplant. The pudding was not cool enough I guess it was prepared just recently which for me should be prepared much earlier since the weather was also very sunny. Im assuming the goreng goreng dishes are their forte as the nasi goreng taste good. Yes theres also nasi goreng (fried rice), chickenwings, shrimp, chicken satay, sauces, white rice, pineapple, hotdog and cordial drinks.

There even prepared us backdrop of hawaiian theme 😁😁 you can look in the photos below. The photo frame was made by us.

I really love the scenery here where you can shots beautiful picture even suitable for pre wedding shot since other than the beautiful beach they even set the place up very beautiful. It was very blue sky day for us too that day. Instagrammable place as we said.

For the parking you can park at the first area you saw on your left when you enter or another one below near the reception area. We parked near the reception area.

We booked the place from 12 -3pm so by 3pm we need to clear the place 😁😁😁

Oh theres also free karaoke package but due to internet line its not very enjoyable though. Quite upset.

Toilet is located behind the bar counter where it look like a sampan bar hehe. If you are walk-in theres also restaurant there and places to stay (this one you can ask them for more information).

I first went here during new year eve 2020 for concert haha because my cousins admire MK K-Clique so much and that time celcom signal was strong but not during my second visit for the family gathering though.

So heres another place to visit at my hometown..you can also check my post PANTAI BATU LUANG for another beautiful beach also in Kuala Penyu not far from this lodge , famous now for the pre wedding shot.
